This is the first (sample) sculpture I made to explore the different phases and sculptural procedures involved in the reduction of the bust of a historical figure, in this case Karl Marx. My aim in this project is to find a satirical, symbolic response to the representation of the power of totalitarian ideologies through a transformative sculptural practice whose aesthetic grows conceptually from a complex technical process of reproduction, deconstruction, reduction, and re-editing.
